Audited Statements
Audited financial statements provide the highest level of assurance and are necessary for a variety of reasons including banking requirements, dealership or franchisor agreements, public company shareholdings, or due to absentee shareholders.
Review Engagement Statements
Review engagements consist primarily of management inquiry and discussion as well as the performance of analytic procedures to determine the plausibility of the financial statement figures. Due to the nature of the testing, a review engagement offers less assurance than an audit but more assurance than a compilation.
Compilation Statements
Statements prepared under a compilation report offer no assurance. These statements are usually prepared when there are no banking or third party requirements and are typically used by small businesses for tax compliance.
